Scruff'd (“Scruff'd,” “we,” “us”) provides online booking and management software for pet grooming businesses. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. By using Scruff'd you agree to the practices described here.

Who this policy covers

Scruff'd serves two kinds of people: the grooming businesses that use our dashboard (“Shops”) and the pet owners who book through a Shop's public booking page (“Customers”). This policy applies to both. Shops are responsible for their own relationships with their Customers, including any additional privacy commitments they make.

Information we collect

We collect the following, depending on how you use Scruff'd:

• Account information. When you create a Shop account we collect your name, email address, phone number, and the authentication details tied to how you sign in (for example, a Google account identifier or a password managed by our authentication provider).
• Shop information. Business name, address, hours, services, pricing, booking rules, and other settings you enter.
• Customer and pet information.When a Customer books, or when a Shop adds a record, we store the Customer's name and contact details along with pet information such as name, breed, size, vaccination status, and grooming notes.
• Booking information. Appointments, their status, and related history.
• Technical information. Basic log and device data needed to operate the service securely, and a session cookie used to keep you signed in.

How we use information

• To provide, maintain, and improve the Scruff'd service.
• To create and manage accounts, authenticate users, and keep the service secure.
• To send transactional messages such as booking confirmations, requests, and cancellation notices.
• To respond to support requests and communicate about the service.
• To comply with legal obligations and enforce our terms.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it to serve third-party advertising.

How information is shared

We share information only as needed to run the service or as required by law:

• Between Shops and their Customers. A booking a Customer makes is shared with the Shop it was made with, and a Customer can see their own bookings with that Shop. Shop data is kept separate from other Shops.
• Service providers. We use Google Firebase for authentication, database, and hosting, and Postmark to deliver email. These providers process data on our behalf under their own security and privacy commitments.
• Legal and safety. We may disclose information if required by law or to protect the rights, safety, and security of our users or the public.

Data retention

We keep information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the service. Cancelled appointments and archived records are retained as part of a Shop's history rather than hard-deleted, so businesses keep an accurate record. You can request deletion of your account and associated data as described below.

Security

We use industry-standard measures to protect your information, including encrypted connections and access controls that limit data to the Shop it belongs to. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your data and to promptly address issues if they arise.

Your choices and rights

• You can review and update your account details from within the Scruff'd dashboard.
• You can request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information by contacting us.
• Customers who wish to update or remove information held by a specific Shop should also contact that Shop directly, since the Shop controls its own records.

Children

Scruff'd is intended for businesses and adults. It is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the effective date above and, where appropriate, provide additional notice.
